Clematis still flowering away in the Bishop’s Palace Vegetable Plot

We hope you are all keeping well. With the most recent lockdown being lifted it has been great to open up the gardening sessions again, albeit with reduced numbers. Our volunteers have been busy harvesting the last of the cabbages and kale making way for the garlic, onions and broad beans to go in. The sweet peas and lettuce are coming along well in the greenhouse and cosmos flowered right up until last week.

It really feels like winter now with the recent cold spell and some frosts this past week. To get us in the Christmas spirit we’ve been making decorations out of dried honesty and saving the seed to sow next spring.

We’d love to see you all but with the current covid 19 restrictions we’ve had to keep session numbers small to keep it safe for everyone, so if you would like to attend one of the gardening sessions please contact us as below to book a session slot, as we unfortunately cannot currently accommodate individuals if they just turn up on the day.

From all of us here at Grow Chichester we wish you a very happy Christmas and best wishes for the new year.

    Christmas Opening Dates:

The last session of 2020 will be Wednesday 16th December from which the gardens will be closed until Wednesday 6th January when we will reopen.
