    We’re pleased to announce a new series of Adult Workshops at Castlehaven’s Horticultural Hub! 

     

    When?: Every Thursday from 1pm – 3pm

     

    Where?: The Horticultural Hub (on the corner of Hartland and Hawley Roads)

     

    Who?: Everyone aged 16 to 100 (and over!) is welcome

    Whether you’re interested in gardening, arts & crafts or food growing, there’s something for everyone at our adult workshop sessions. Run by our Environmental Engagement Coordinator, Nichola Daunton, these sessions are fun, friendly and educational. A great way to meet new people and learn some new skills.

     

    Adult Workshops 

     

    9th August ‘ Summer Wreaths

    Weave a willow wreath and decorate with summer flowers and foliage

     

    16th August ‘ Wooden Wind Chimes

    Make and decorate your own wooden wind chime

     

    23rd August – Sun Print Cards

    Create your own cards and pictures using leaves and flowers and this old photography technique!

     

    30th August ‘ Botanical life-drawing

    Draw and paint some beautiful flowers and plants using watercolours

     

    6th September ‘ Make a winter hanging basket

    Make your own hanging basket and fill with hardy plants that’ll survive the winter

     

    13th September – Paint your own terracotta pot

    Paint and decorate a terracotta pot with nature-inspired designs

     

    20th September ‘ Plant spring flowering bulbs

    Bring a pot (or use the one you painted last week) to plant with vibrant spring flowering bulbs

     

    27th September ‘ Tin Can Lanterns

    Make a luminous lantern to brighten those autumn nights

     

    4th October ‘ Bird Feeders

    Construct a squirrel-proof bird feeder to help the birds through the colder months

     

    11th October ‘ Plant bulbs for Christmas Flowering

    Brighten the dark winter days with these indoor bulbs that should flower just in time for Christmas!
