Blackwood Stroke Support Group braved the wild weather reports and took to the water on board the Seren Party Boat for a trip around Cardiff Bay and up the Taff to the Principality Stadium last Wednesday. The forecast stormy conditions failed to materialise and the only thing rocking the boat was the members and guests walking up to the bar. The choice to use the Penarth slipway and car park made access to the boat very easy and nearly 30 members and guests were underway very quickly.

After an interesting cruise around Cardiff Bay we headed up the Taff towards the city center as far as the Principality Stadium, where Joan Warburton was well and truly surprised to be presented with a certificate confirming her 1000 hrs of voluntary work for the Stroke Association and a rather large bunch of flowers. On behalf of GAVO, Mike also presented her with yet another certificate commemorating her voluntary work. WELL DONE JOAN from us all!

With the main business of the day concluded we headed back to dry land and an excellent lunch in the nearby Oyster Catcher before heading for home …a great day out was had by all¬†ūüėä
